the body image group at the Center for Hope of the Sierras. Wendy created and produced a guided

A former University of Nevada communications instructor, Wendy is rediscovering her passion for designing trainings

and presenting at workshops. Serving on the Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Professional

Counselors is also a return to previous interests. Wendy completed internships at the Nevada State Legislature, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office  and  served as the communications manager  of a lobbying firm. Her board experience includes serving as a member of the Washoe County Human Services Consortium,  Nevada State Medical Association, and President of the Alliance with the Washoe County Medical Society. She considers her most important role to be mother to her two children (who are now adults and attending college).

Wendy is a native Nevadan, whose parents (Roland and Dixie Westergard) and extended family were dedicated to public service to our state. Her desire to be a member of the board stems from her deep commitment to Nevada citizens. She hopes to contribute to fulfilling the mission of the board, which is to protect the public and ensure ethical standards be upheld by the professionals who serve the people of Nevada.
