LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Identify events, situations, or stresses that increase a persons risk of suicidal ideation and behaviors.
Identify long-term risk factors and conditions that increase a person’s risk of suicide as well as internal and external factors to a person at risk that serve as protections against suicidal behaviors and help seeking attitudes.


Increase your confidence to directly ask about suicide ideation and behaviors.  Know the phases and goal of a structured intervention.


Identify resources and referrals. Define postvention activities.
